Great Big Group Date 2012 is a Great Big Time!
This past Saturday we ventured out to Pittsburgh, on our annual Great Big Group Valentine’s Date. Over 20 people took the ice of PPG Ice Skating Rink for some good refreshing winter exercise. After a few hours of great ice skating it was time to get some food, so we walked to Dibela’s Subs in Market Square for a delicious sandwich. This was all a great day in the city, but we weren’t done there as we left and took a ride on the Duquesne Incline to get an even greater view of the city we love! A few Dunkin Donuts on the way home made for an amazing ending to a Great Big Day in Pittsburgh!!
Someone Special Valentine’s Dance 2012 – Dancing, Fun, Love!
On Saturday February 10th Skybacher Ministries held it’s 2nd annual Someone Special Valentine’s Dance. It was an amazing turnout as over 80 kids turned out with their special guests and packed the Big Knob Elementary Gym. D.J. Chuck Spiker got the evening started with some great jams to dance to. Guests could take a chance at one of several beautiful prize baskets, have their photos taken, grab some snacks and cookies, or dance! And there was plenty of dancing. Guests were invited to do the hokey pokey, the chicken dance, a dance contest on newspaper, conga lines, and so much more! It was an incredibly fun time and a picture of what Skybacher Ministries is all about; allowing kid’s to be who God created them to be! A huge thank you of the fundraising committee who helped make it possible and to photographer Marti Aiken, and D.J. Chuck Spiker. The funds raised will help us continue to provide further programs that provide Good Sports, Good Times, and Good News!
Arctic Blast Weekend 2012 – A Whole Lotta Dodgeball Fun!
This past month we held the Annual Dodgeball Arctic Blast. Nine teams from different areas, and different denominations all over Beaver County came to battle it out. In the end it was two teams from Freedom battling for the title as The Dub Club took down the Beast Squad to take home the Arctic Blast Trophy. Congratulations Dub Club.
The following day it was the elementary students turn. It was another packed house as kids battled it out in high action dodgeball and heard a message about how our help comes from the Lord. To finish it off kids got to battle their parents in a dodgeball showdown for a great close to the night.
Love is In the Air! – February Events
We decided as we always do at this time of the year, to let go of the competitiveness and come together in love. This month we will not have any sports tournaments but that doesn’t mean we will be lacking in great events.

The Someone Special Dance? It is a “fun”d raiser benefiting Skybacher Ministries, Inc.
It is open to children grades K-6, and an adult who is special to that child. It could be Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt or Uncle.
A great way to spend time together. Cost is $5 per person.
Tickets will be available in advance and at the door.

Don’t miss out on these exciting events, and remember Pray & Play takes place on Thursday nights @6p in Hopewell, and Sunday nights at 6:30p in Unionville. Pray & Play is a sports and prayer ministry open to jr. high and high school students.
Dodgeball Arctic Blast Weekend Jan. 21 & 22nd
Happy New Year everyone! It’s the start of a new year and that can mean only one thing, the return of the most anticipated event of the Skybacher Ministries Tournament Season. The Dodgeball Arctic Blast!!! It’s the perfect cure for your winter blues! Both tournaments are at Unionville Life Center. Get your team together and register online or text John with a team name at 724-312-7247! The Elementary Tournament may be changed to Friday if the Steelers make the AFC Championship game.
Jr High & High School Tournament
Saturday January 21st 6:30 pm – 11:00 pm
Cost is $5 per person
10 players per team, two must be girls, or you can play with (8 guys).
Elementary Tournament (K – 6th grade).
Sunday January 22nd 5:00 – 8:00 pm
Cost is $5 per person
7 players per team or we will make teams once you get there.
