Flag Football Week 2- Playing in the Mud!!

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Saturday brought another week of flag football.  This week was a little colder, and a lot muddier, but just as fun.  In the first game West Side dominated East Coast right from the start.  East Coast’s first two passes were intercepted and run back for touchdowns by Seth and Cody.  After that kind of a start it was difficult for East Coast to recover, and everyone limited their passing and took off running as five different players scored rushing touchdowns. Week 2.game 1. stats

In game 2 North Way and South Town battled it out in another high scoring affair. Seth started things off with a bang when he returned a kickoff for a touchdown to give North Way and early 7-6 lead. The combination of J-Mo and Cody hooked up for 4 touchdowns for North Way, but they were outdueled once again by Brandon’s six touchdown passes to five different receivers. Garrett intercepted a pass late in the game to preserve the win for South Town 49-45.  Week 2.game2.stats

It was another great week, and we have 1 more week to go before the big Turkey Bowl on Thanksgiving. Hope to see you there.

Offensive Player of the Week

North Way- Cody Williams

4 TD receptions, 1 Rushing TD

Defensive Player of the Week

West Side-Seth Shidemantle

3 Interceptions 1 returned for TD

Pray & Play Rebel Challenge Week 2

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

This week we continued our Pray & Play Rebel Challenge as we discussed the dangers of cell phones.  There is nothing wrong with cell phones. There are many positive uses and benefits to them.  But how can we be different from the culture around us in how we use and what we use our cell phones for?  That’s our challenge this week.  We have invited everyone to go for one full day without using their cell phone, and see how that changes their day.  You too can participate in the “Rebel Challenge” and see how your life is changed.  “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2
