Football Season Just Around The Corner

Friday, August 10th, 2007

Football season is just around the corner! This means a few things for Skybacher Ministries.

1. Flag Football Frenzy is not too far off.
2. The Skybacher Ministries Fantasy Football League is now open
3. We’ll start playing flag football at Pray & Play soon.

A few of us kicked off football season by attending Steelers Training camp. I got Big Ben and Hines autograph on the old ministry football. Everyone else there just got a bunch of scrubs signatures. Just kidding.

Xtreme Teen Week - Continues

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Tonight we head into our third night of Xtreme Week. If you haven’t been there so far, there’s still time to check out what’s going on. Tonight we continue our discussions on American Idols as we talk about “the god of meehomies” and the dangers of putting friends and people before God. Hope to see you there.

The Super Boy Turns 5!

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

Super Ty - 5Hard to believe how quickly time goes by. Today Tyler turned 5. He wanted the new Superman suit soooooo bad! We made him wait a little bit for it but we couldn’t take the disappointment on his face anymore. He hasn’t take the thing off all day.

It seems like we were just at Geneva wondering when we would be blessed to have our first child. Now he’s 5 and he thinks he’s Superman! God is good!

All else is well. We’re getting ready for a new school year, and soccer is starting. Things with the ministry have gone very well this summer! But summer is quickly coming to a close.

Oh well bring on Christmas! Just kidding

Summer is going too fast!

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

We just got back from a wonderful time in Presque Isle. One of the best vacations that I can remember, and we needed it as our family had been wiped out for an entire month with the stomach flu. Everyone is doing fine now thankfully. The previous week I was at a camp in West Virginia running the recreation and games for a few churches. It felt so good to be back at camp. A little earlier in the summer we had what we called an Extreme Teen Week which was like a week of Vacation Bible School for the teens. It was so much fun! Our theme was Deal or No Deal and the kids had a great time playing and learning more about God’s Word. A few of them even memorized the verse in Proverbs 23:23 “Buy the truth and don’t sell it, also gain wisdom, discipline, and understanding.”

Other than that I’ve been working on some medical illustrations, and starting up soccer again. School is just around the corner. Yikes!!!!

Have a great rest of the summer.

It’s Been Awhile

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

It has been a while, but the madness still continues at our house. I just wanted to send ya out a couple pictures of the kids. Things have been going well. I am a day to day substitute teacher at Freedom Jr. High still, and we are continuing with Skybacher Ministries. Julia is now 1 and is walking around chasing her siblings. The other 2 have figured out what sibling rivalry is, and Kristie has just recently purchased a referee shirt (just kidding).

Everything else is well, Skybacher Ministries continues to grow. Recently we had a dessert open house, and soon we will be having our first board meeting.

Happy Easter & Happy Spring time!

Life Goes On

Wednesday, November 9th, 2005

The Tri-fectaWell, soccer is finally over, we gracefully, and quickly bowed out of the playoffs. It still was a lot of fun having the school’s first winning season. Now I am actually moving onto 7th grade boys basketball. Our tryouts are tomorrow. I have continued to substitute teach nearly every day at Freedom Jr. High, and keep doing things for the ministry. This past weekend I just got back from speaking at a jr. high retreat.

The family is doing well. Julia has been battling a cold over the past couple of weeks but everyone else has been healthy. The kids had fun trick-or-treating, and we had fun eating all of their candy!!!

HalloweenThings with the ministry continue to amaze us. Pray & Play has become a well-known youth fellowship among many of the local kids. We also just had our first ever Flag Football Frenzy. It was a lot of fun, and we had a ton of kids out for the day. Thank you for your prayers and support it is making a difference in young people’s lives.
