Another crazy March is in the books! First on our calendar was Kalahari, an annual Skybacher winter tradition, and it was a huge success. Friends of the ministry booked 80 rooms and took the trip to the indoor waterpark March 16-17. That was double the number of rooms booked with us in 2016. Between the slides, wave pool, outdoor hot tubs, arcade, and sugary treats, fun was had by all!

This year’s Slamrock 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament had over 70 students and brave adults compete for the 2017 titles. The competition rivaled that of March Madness with several championship and playoff games coming down to the wire! Congrats to our division champions – the Gucci Guwops (Adult Competitive), LP Bulldogs (High School), New Brighton Ballerz (Junior High), Supermans (Middle), and Blue Warheads (Elementary).

After talking about dating, love, and relationships in February, Pray & Play this month focused on discerning how pop culture affects our lives. It’s easy to be influenced by pop culture with how accessible Netflix, TV shows, movies, and music are. John challenged our students to turn on their filter, to not make pop culture a god, and to have self control. And we’re thankful for some of our highest P&P attendance weekends of the school year coming in March!

And finally, congrats to Casey Collins (ESPN) and Cody W (Yahoo) for winning our March Madness Bracket Challenges!

If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them… This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
