2016 October – Unseasonably Full of Life

We love October at Skybacher Ministries, because as the seasons change and leaves are falling we are getting started with another school year of ministry.  This will be our 13th year of ministry to children, youth, and families.  We started things off with the what has been a tradition for many years, in the Dodgeball Pumpkin Blast.  The Pumpkin Blast is a unique dodgeball tournament that uses 2 pumpkin dodgeballs per court that can be game changers if caught or if they are used to hit someone.  The jr. and sr. high kicked things off with a 5 team tournament.  In the end it was Team Hashtag, that would take home 2016 Title, and a set of new neon champions shirts!  On Sunday it was time for the elementary and middle school to take the stage.  They to enjoyed using the game changer pumpkin balls, and had a message on how we should respect and pray for authority.  It all added up to another amazing weekend of dodgeball and fun.

On October 29th we had our Annual Family Fun Run at Brush Creek Park.  We didn’t get the turnout we had hoped for, but we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fall day.  Those that did turnout had fun taking in the course and enjoying the scenes.  It was fun to see a few of those who competed in the costume contest, as we had Minions, prisoners, and mutant turtles all running the race.  Next up for November – Flag Football on November 12th, and Volleyball on November 25th – and as always Pray & Play on Sundays a 6:30p.
