July picked up where June left off with more of the Skybacher “more than” Sports Camps. We also had our Annual Kickball Classic tournament in the midst of it all and closed things out with the Rubber Duck Derby.  It was a very busy and blessed July!

  • Basketball Camp – Our theme was “What Time Is It?” and Professor J and his crew came out each day to teach class and talk about how the time to use the gifts God has made you with is now!  We had a great week of basketball!
  • Soccer Camp – Our theme was “I Believe That…” and we were show how we can have victory through Jesus.  Papa G came out each morning to make donuts and ensure that everyone started the morning with a healthy dose of laughter and sugar.
  • All-star Playground – We broke everyone up into four huge teams and had a week of all kinds of various games including; kickball, dodgeball, hopscotch, double-dutch, tag, and more.  It was an absolute blast and we will more than likely do it again next year.  The entire week was focused on  awe and wonder and we embraced all that it means to be young and filled with hope.

When camp ended our staff had a celebration at the wave pool, and then had some time over dinner to reflect on the wonderful summer.  We all became “more than” what we were when the summer began!

Just before July came to a close we had our 5th Annual Rubber Duck Derby to raise funds for the camps and upcoming school programs.  The Lord couldn’t have provided a nicer day, and we sold 569 rubber ducks.  At 7:15p at the New Sewickley Community Days we walked those ducks down to creek and let em’ race!  The winning duck was owned by Kristen Evans.  It all added up to a July filled with blessings!
