April Showers of Blessings – April 2015

It was a busy and rainy April. As the showers rained down, so did the blessings at Skybacher Ministries Inc. This month we hosted 2 big events.

On April 17th we held our 4th Annual Dinner Auction. This year’s theme was The Amazing Race. The night began with a delicious dinner and some tricks from a local magician. After desert the Skybacher Ministries Director – John Mohrbacher gave everyone a picture of the “race” that today’s young people are running, and urged the crowd to help through prayer and support make it “amazing!” After dinner it was time for our resident auctioneer Chuck Speicher to take to the mike and get things started. This was the most items we have ever auctioned off, and the result was the most money we have ever raised at this event. Popular auction items on the night were a huge stuffed horse, some weird flavored soda, a Pirate’s baseball package, and the ever popular meat from Eisenbrown’s farm. It all made for a great night.

The following weekend we hosted our first ever Cosmic Clash Dodgeball! This was dodgeball with blacklights! Students were able to paint themselves in all kinds of glowing paint upon entering, then after going over the rules it was time to shut the lights out and get on with the dodgeball! What a fun 2 nights it was! We are done with the tournaments until the July Kickball Tourney.  Don’t forget though the Skybacher “more than” Sports Camps are just around the corner!!!
