We just put the wraps on another great dodgeball weekend and so begins our 10th school year of ministry. On Saturday it was the big kids tournament 7-12th grade. Seven teams battled it out. This year we introduced a new rule – “the pumpkin ball”! When anyone hit someone with the pumpkin they got to pick a person to get back in, but if someone caught the pumpkin, their entire team would get back in. It made for some exciting moments. After a double-elimination playoff round it was Trains, trains, trains that would pull an upset and take home the trophy.
Sunday night it was the young ones turn. We had 9 teams total and a ton of rowdiness. The energy was high and the dodge balls were flying, right up until the parents arrived and they jumped in to throw at their own children. It was a blast. Both nights heard the good news that God does not want us to live in fear. It was another great dodgeball weekend!
