We had a great first day of basketball camp! The word of the day and the All-Star Action was create. J-Mo, the coolest and silliest rapper around, came and talked to the kids about how God created them and how amazing that is! After he left, we learned how to get low on defense and how to control the ball while dribbling. Next we split into teams and put the kids to a challenge: to CREATE a team name and poster. Team names ranged from the Speeding Cheetahs to the Chasing Chimps and the posters will be displayed in the gym for the rest of the week. Finally, we played a few games of 3 on 3 basketball and ended with a prayer and freeze pops. What a great day to play basketball and to learn alongside, laugh with, and teach God’s creation- these kids!
